In the Catholic Church, OCIA stands for the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults. These rites are a formal entrance into the Catholic Church in which adults are instructed in the teachings of the faith, including how to pray, discern, and live a Catholic life. Adults in OCIA are called catechumens, and they receive the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Penance, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.
